Instead of the traditional parade of athletes on an athletics track, guests and spectators enjoyed a colorful river parade through the heart of the French capital. The Seine River became the “runway” as boats carried athletes from competing countries. They traveled 6 kilometers, passing emblematic places such as Notre-Dame, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.

You could appreciate the art that flows through the city, flooding its streets along with the history that this nation has built. giving a message of inclusion and solidarity, inviting all attendees to admire the beauty and art that can flourish as humanity

It was a ceremony with striking visual moments, with the participation of artists such as Lady Gaga, Gojira, Marina Viotti, Axelle Saint-Cirel, Aya Nakamura, Rim'K and Juliette Armanet. The big star of everything was the city, Paris, as well as Céline Dion with her performance of Hymne à l'amour from the Eiffel Tower, giving a worthy end to the ceremony that was at the height of the event.

To close the event, there was the long-awaited relay race with the Olympic torch being handed over at the trocadero, which traveled to the Tuileries Gardens, between the Louvre Museum and the Place de la Concorde. where it was lit, and it rose from the ground, with a hot air balloon. That rose illuminating the night in the city of Paris announcing that the Olympic games have begun.
