Pop superstar, Billie Eilish, has recently released her new single, “Chihiro”, which is part of her latest album, “Hit Me Hard And Soft”. The song, already boasting over 130 million streams on Spotify, has caused quite a stir in the music industry.


Inspiration behind “Chihiro”

Eilish drew inspiration from the film “Spirited Away” for this song. The lyrics, penned by Eilish and her brother Finneas O’Connell, speak of a complicated relationship where the protagonist feels abandoned and misunderstood. The song discusses having love taken away and how one should react if it returns.



The Music Video for “Chihiro”

The music video for “Chihiro”, released on 6th June 2024, was directed by Eilish herself. It features scenes reminiscent of the aforementioned animated film. Additionally, the music video stars actor and musician Nat Wolff, who alongside Eilish, partakes in a series of interactions that range from aggressive, to affectionate, to chimeric.
